@expectopatrono yes I completely agree… but their strategy was to divide & rule.. they thought they could succeed but they were able to do the first part only…. “divide” they couldnt rule either countries…. it became kind of surgery.. we styed next to each other.. but the scar remained,,

@arshadzimbo Hi Arshad… Thank you very much.. I exactly had the explanation in mind while explaining to our friend who wondered why Eid comes before Diwali.. Aoplogies for sounding confusing… I am aware of both Solar & Lunar calendars (let’s call them them that instead of calling by country names.. hope you don’t mind)
AlsoI am (VERY HAPPILY)surprised you are so much aware of this 13th momth & stuff.. I guess in today’s world people are not even aware of these things (even in India)… 🙂

@abiismit – friends, Lunar calender is 10-11 days shorter than solar calender. thus in Hindu (allow me to say – Indian) calender a correction is made every third year by adding an additional month (13th month – dusra sawan). Hence you find Diwali in october to November only. this is not the case with Islamic (rather Arabian calender) so we see a continued shifting.

@abiismit yeah you are right…but now am thinking that even hindu calendar system is lunar based…but still diwali comes almost the within one month of duration….i’ll try to find it out…
    thanks anyways for ur opinion..

  7. pinku576 says:

@abiismit well.. as I said it takes a whole rotation of the year.. this Eid I guess called as meethi Eid.. it moves back some ~10+ days every year so we need to a back calculation till 1800s.. 🙂
So yes this year it was in Sep.. but if you notice next year Eid’s date would be earlier than this years date.

  8. abiismit says:

@pinku576 ek eid to september me bhi hoti hai na?

  9. pinku576 says:

@abiismit not reallly zanaab.. Eid follows a lunar calendar, hence it falls a couple of days earlier every year.. it takes a whole round of English/Solar calendar

  10. pinku576 says:

@expectopatrono Agreed.. just the greed to power made them do it.. there was no other way to hold on to the power without dividing two arms of one body..

  11. poissondelamer says:

@expectopatrono 10000% right, it was division of civilized humanity of sub-continent.
we also lost Urdu langauge because of it.
