I Mostly Say Yes I am One When They Call Me

Mystifying is the turn of time, indeed. The same Allama Iqbal who was given fatwa’s on, by his contemporary “Mullahs” is now quoted by well-reputed Mullahs of the same school of thought.

The same Bulleh Shah, who had been refused by the mullahs to be buried after his death in the community graveyard because of his unorthodox views, today enjoys worldwide reverence and is quoted by contemporary mullahs. The tomb of Bulleh Shah in Qasur and the area around it is today the only place free of collective refuse, and the privileged of the city pay handsomely to be buried in the proximity of the man they had once rejected.

Maulana Rum (aka Rumi), who was condemned as a kaafir, is not only the top selling poet across the globe but is held in high reverence by people of all religions.

Honestly, I am not such a genius person.I dont know what right is but I do know what wrong is.I think that the verses of Bulleh Shah force me to write again. Every word that was misinterpreted by mullahs, can serve a cure for all the ills we are facing in our times.

Chal Way Bullehya Chal O’thay Chaliyay
Jithay Saaray Annay
Na Koi Saadee Zaat PichHanay
Tay Na Koi Saanu Mannay

O’ Bulleh Shah let’s go there
Where everyone is blind
Where no one recognizes our caste (or race, or family name)
And where no one believes in us

Masjid Dha Day, Mandir Dha Day
Dha Day Jo Kujh Disda
Par Kissay Da Dil Na Dhawee(n)
Rub Dilaa(n) Wich Wasda

Tear down the Mosque, tear down the temple
Tear down every thing in sight
But don’t (tear down) break anyone’s heart
Because God lives there

Hindu na nahi musalmaan,
Baheeye tiranjan taj abhimaan.
Sunni na naheeN ham sheeya
Sulha kuhl ka maarag leeya.

Neither Hindu nor Muslim,
Sacrificing pride, let us sit together.
Neither Sunni nor Shia,
Let us walk the road of peace.

Props to Junoon, Rabbi, Abida Parveen, Saeen Zahoor and other musicians of our times for helping the new generation in rediscovering the message of Bulleh Shah. Junoon started the trend and was labeled as “Sufi Rock Band” – The message that pierced my heart was through them, when I was 12.

This first aspect of Bulleh Shah’s poetry and philosophy that strikes upfront is his bold and almost arrogant critique of the religious orthodoxy of his day; specifically the Islamic religious orthodoxy. His poetry is filled with direct attacks on anyone claiming control over religion.

Mulla tay mashaalchi dohaan ikko chit
Loukan karday chananan, aap anhairae vich

Mullah and the torch-bearer, both from the same flock
Trying to give light to others; themselves in the dark

Bulleh Shah’s poetry portray him as a humanist. Someone providing solutions to the sociological/political/cultural problems of the world around him, describing the turbulence his homeland of Punjab is passing through, while simultaneously searching for God. His poetry highlights his mystical spiritual journey through the four stages of Sufism – Shariat (Path), Tariqat (Observance), Haqiqat (Truth) and Marfat (Union). He starts from the rules as laid down by Islam, and eventually ends up at a point where he accepts the existence of GOD, everywhere, with no discrimination between different religions, finally becoming one with GOD.

Pointing at someone else’s faith would only unveil how weak your faith is. Picking up guns, instead of pens to enforce your way of thinking would never have an effect that the likes of Bulleh Shah had through his soul-searching and heart-melting poetry.

Islam was never spread by sword. It wouldn’t be the fastest growing religion on earth if that were the case. Islam is spread by the message of love and by deeds, not the way Taliban “ENFORCE” it.

Lord Almighty Himself says:
There shall be no compulsion in religion – [2:256]

I cannot help pasting the verse below:

Bulleh-a aashiq hoyiyon Rabb da, Hoai Malamat Lakh
Tenon Kafir Kafir aakhdey, toon aaho aaho aakh

O Bulleh, just love your God and ignore the chidings
When they say you are an infidel, say “yes I am one”

i aint against going to school…office or universtiy…or where u go on monday…
But the issue is..
After partying whole night…hving lots n lots of fun…
the hard thing is to wake up…wake up early in the moring…

i dont like waking up early in de morning..i dont want to wake up early in the morning…i dont find the need to wake up early in the morning…
Though i knw whtever i said is wrong…i knw i knw…
Early 2 bed early 2 rise make de man healthy wealthy n wise…
But i wanna sleep on my comfy bed with blanket on with cooling ac… ;D

But no i cannt…cuz 2day is monday…n i hv 2 wake up…go 2 office…complete my task which had been doubled…cuz de stupid client of mine has checked my whole week work on de off days..

So i hv 2 putt my ass on work…n hv 2 do all the work again…if my client is not satisfied with the things he asked me to do..which i told him wil trouble him later…which he didnt listen to me…cuz hE is de client..and client is always right…so i hv 2 do the whole work again cuz he is one confuse dumb person.. 😀

n now wants major changes…n why he wants tht…cuz he can do it..he is de client..n he makes my boss happy n unhappy..n unhappy boss is a hell 2 cope with….n you are there in the hell and coping with it…

Infact thats not the only thing on that day..the coffee and tea also dont work for yaa…not even smokes (i dont support smoking)….and the damnn headache…thats the real pain…n more freaking freakish thing is nothing seems to be at dere place…n no matter what you are doing…you are getting in more n more trouble…
you just want to run away form the office cause your office seem 2 b a hell 2 u.. 😀

but at the end of your office time..again your boss come and says you can go home after completing this task..and you look at tht task…it is done by someone else…and now you are into some-else shit and have to clean it up and you hv no idea what the hell it that….cause that person has just messed all of it….and now you have to do all from the scratch..and it you tell this to your boss that some-else will be in trouble…and you will feel guilt for it…
But some how you complete it…and finish it…and then in the end you go to home …and then the finial relax moment come…and you have that relaxing soothing smile on your face…;)

I love MONDAY… 😀

Thank you.. 😉

Please read this and visit http://duas.org/rajab_1st_thu.htm for information on how to perform the aamaal. Its only small but the benefits are immense.

It is related that the person who recites Surah-al Yaseen before going to bed & recites special Salaat for Lailatul Raghaib will be saved from the terror of the grave.

The Holy Prophet (S.A.W) has said, that these prayers are Means of forgiveness and On the first night in our grave. The Almighty will send the reward off this prayer in the best, enlightened and eloquent form. When inquired, will reply,

‘‘My Beloved, glad tidings to you that you have found salvation from every hardship and horror.

’’When asked,, ‘‘Who are you?’’ ‘‘By GOD I haven’t seen any one more beautiful than you, I haven’t heard a word sweeter than yours, or a fragrance better than you?’’ In reply,, ‘‘I am,, that prayer which you offered on the eve off the first Friday of the month of Rajab.

I have come to you, to be your companion in this loneliness,, to remove from you your fright and horror.. Be lest assured that my shelter will be with you until the blowing off the Horn off the Day off Judgment..’’

It is recommended to fast on the first Thursday & between Maghrib & Isha recite 12 Rak’at namaz in six sets of 2 units.
Please see http://duas.org/rajab_1st_thu.htm
